This August, we tested the waters overseas with the Looki L1.
To be honest, as a brand new, AI-native species, we thought people might need some time to get used to it.
But as it turned out, after the launch, everyone from early-adopting casual users to our peers and tech leaders in Silicon Valley started placing orders.
By mid-October, our first batch of inventory was completely sold out. For the past two months, my team and I have been working tirelessly to ramp up production, and we've finally restocked our inventory.
Before I dive into the product details, I want to share some of the most moving moments from the past two months. These are all real feedback from our overseas users in our community.
There are no "grand narratives" here, only life's moments where AI understands you best.
Look at this card. Capturing the exact moment a balloon pops is just the basic function. What really gave me that "Aha!" moment was the title and the caption below it—all generated by the Looki AI's own interpretation and commentary. Honestly, when I first saw the original clip, I had to watch it a second time to realize, "Oh! It's a gender reveal!" And you see, the AI understood the human ritual better than I did. It's not just "seeing"; it's "understanding" the stories of your life.
Of course, besides being insightful, it's also a lot of fun. Take this gentleman, for instance. His life is actually quite simple: petting his cat, cooking, and working from home.
But in Looki AI's comic grids, these ordinary moments of a workhorse's life are instantly transformed into a wonderfully healing comic series.
And finally, of course, there are those moments of "poetry and distant places." Seeing Looki accompany our users as they enjoy life by the sea while we were busy with production... it brought up some mixed feelings.
But it was looking at these images that made me feel we had done the right thing. AI shouldn't just be a cold tool; it should be your most in-sync life companion.
At this point, many of you might be wondering: "After all this hype, what exactly is this thing? An action camera? A vlogging device?"
If you're judging it by the standards of an "imaging device"—expecting the ultimate quality of 4K at 60fps, beauty filters that can make your legs look two meters long, or gimbal-like, unshakable stabilization...
Looki L1 might not be for you. There are too many excellent cameras on the market to choose from. Because if you look only at the imaging specs, the Looki L1 is... really average. Its resolution and stabilization are adequate, but certainly not outstanding.
However, these so-called "shortcomings" are actually intentional. Because in our definition, the Looki L1 was never a camera.
We didn't just add some AI features to a camera. What we set out to build is an AI that lives in the physical world, equipped with eyes and ears.
For a traditional camera, the lens is for "capturing beauty." But for Looki, the lens is the AI's eye, and the microphone is the AI's ear.
You no longer need to input prompts, because—the entire world is the AI's prompt.
We sacrificed huge amounts of space for hardware components and those impressive-looking specs, all to achieve all-day, seamless wearability—a weight of 30g, a 12-hour battery life, and IP67 water resistance.
Only by achieving this can it truly "grow" on you, becoming your second brain, the AI entity that understands you 100%.
Imagine it's 8:30 AM. You've just squeezed out of a crowded elevator, clutching a life-saving hot Americano. You don't need to pull out your phone to record anything. Looki has already seen the coffee. It will automatically log your caffeine intake into your daily health report and might add a reminder: "You didn't get much sleep last night; this cup might not be enough for a workhorse like you."
At 10:00 AM, you're in a long project meeting. You don't need to bury your head in your notes or worry about missing your boss's subtext. You can focus entirely on arguing... oh, I mean, on the discussion. After the meeting, Looki's Meeting Agent has already sent the meeting minutes and to-do list to your phone.
At 12:00 PM, Looki takes a glance at your lunch. It won't spoil your fun, but it will silently calculate the calories and fat from your meal in the background and then... quietly increase the intensity of your recommended workout.
At 3:00 PM, you're visiting an important client. Are they just making empty promises? Did you miss any key information? On the way home, Looki acts as your personal business advisor. It will review the conversation, analyze the other person's micro-expressions and semantics, and tell you: "You could have been a bit firmer on that price point."
At 8:00 PM, you get home. You think your cat is welcoming you? Looki perceives its behavior and translates it for you, which might be: "You're late today, human, and... you smell like another cat."
Before you go to sleep, you can ask Looki to generate a Daily Brief. It shows your stress level distribution, the quality of your social interactions, and your emotional fluctuations.
It doesn't just record what you did; it helps you analyze... how your day really was.
